Spooky Time!

Posted by Holly Gaskin on Wednesday, October 3, 2012,
Well, October is here, and in keeping with my yearly tradition, my front lawn looks like a graveyard. The skeleton is hanging out of the wishing well.Spiderwebs, witches and ghosts adorn my porch windows.  I still need to get some pumpkins. It's looking very spooktacularly festive at the Gaskin residence!

Looking forward to the Appleumpkin Festival at Flower Memorial Library this Saturday. I've known about it for years, but this is the first year I'm able to take part. I'll be there, signing ...

Fall is Here!

Posted by Holly Gaskin on Wednesday, September 26, 2012,
My favorite season is upon us... autumn, beautiful autumn! I'm looking forward to seeing the changing leaves and feeling the crisp, cool air on my face. And, of course, October means Halloween! I get to get out in the world and promote "Tricked" as though it were a new book! Yay! Please check out my "appearances" page to see where I will be.

Be well... I'll try to update more often.

Sandy Creek Rocked!

Posted by Holly Gaskin on Saturday, October 29, 2011,
WOW... thanks to everyone at the Sandy Creek Library for making my first official speaking engagement such a fun and memorable event! Valerie, Elaine, Michelle, nice kids like Ali, Conner and Molly and EVERYONE who took time to talk to me, whether you bought a book or not! I loved the Halloween costumes and the great questions the audience had for me afterwards. Oh, and macaroni and cheese was to die for! A very well-organized event. Hope it becomes an annual event. Maybe next year it can be ...

October!

Posted by Holly Gaskin on Sunday, October 2, 2011,
October is here! My favorite month of the year. :^) I welcomed in the new month with "Barktoberfest" on 10/1, a fundraiser for the Jefferson County SPCA. I have a rare weekend off this Saturday and Sunday (unless I'm called to do a remote for the radio station). Perhaps my husband and I will take a drive to the Adirondacks to see the fall foliage. The following weekend (10/15), I'll be paying my annual visit to the Burrville Cider Mill. I'll be joined by fellow North Country authors, Marcus M...

Halloween is Coming!

Posted by Holly Gaskin on Saturday, October 23, 2010,
I love this time of year! I adore the fall foliage, especially the bright, vivid yellows, as the trees prepare to shed their summer clothing in exchange for the dull nakedness of winter. This all-too-brief, in-between period is nature at its most gorgeous. Add to that, the pumpkins that crop up for sale everywhere from the local farms to the grocery stores, the attraction of the cider mill that is only open for a few short months every year, the aisles of colorful Halloween costumes in every ...

Good Things Are Happening!

Posted by Holly Gaskin on Saturday, September 18, 2010,
Black River Fall Fest was AWESOME last weekend!! Sold many books... had to reorder so I'll have more copies for Fall book signings! The weather was perfect, too.

Did the Memory Walk today, in honor of my Dad. Again, beautiful weather, and Team EMAM (Every Mile A Memory) raised about $200 for the fight against Alzheimer's!

Looks like I'll be doing something at Burrville Cider Mill in October, and at the Adams Free Library the day before Halloween... Details coming soon!
