July is a very busy month for me, between book signing events and my
regular day job. As much as I love documenting all of this activity via
videos on my Facebook page, "Can This Author Make It In One Year?", I
have been have terrible technical issues with my computer/ Flip cam/
Windows Movie Maker. So until I get all those glitches fixed, I will document my comings and goings
via this blog. I should be trying harder to drive traffic to my website anyway... duh!
A couple Saturdays ago, I participated in the
Second Annual Cheddar Cheese Festival in Adams, NY. The weather was
great, there were lots of vendors and live music, and I had fun soaking
up the sun. I made some great connections with potential readers, folks
from the North Country Arts Council and the Henderson Chamber of
Commerce. In fact, I'll be participating in the"Art in the Park" event
in Henderson this coming Saturday (7/23).
Congrats to Gail from Brewerton, who won a free copy of "Finding My Father" in the raffle I did at the Cheese Fest. Turns out she ran an Alzheimer's support group for 15 years, so she was very excited to be my winner! Also, I want to thank JoAnn, another nice lady I met at the same event. She emailed me today to tell me she'd purchased my latest book at Green Thyme in Adams Center.
Next Tuesday, I'll be
in Old Forge at the Authors Fair there. Instead of the library, the
event will take place at the Forge Motel Knoll. This event will begin at
1PM.
I have also been doing a lot of songwriting, namely with my
good friend, Darryl, and we have many good things to share with the
world very soon!
Best,
Holly
